In our first webinar about ‘Money’, we have talked about how the idea of money came into existence, how it affected societies throughout history and what were the approaches of Abrahamic Religions to it. We have also talked about how money can evolve and reshape financial systems in the future.
In our second webinar in this series, we will talk about the role of Islamic finance in today’s financial systems with our guest Dr. Buerhan Saiti and Mustafa Dereci as the moderator.
Dr. Buerhan Saiti is currently an Associate Professor of Department of Islamic Economics and Finance of the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.Previously, he was full-time Associate and Assistant Professor of Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Full-time Senior Lecturer of Islamic Finance at the Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School (December 2012– December 2017) where he headed the Finance and Islamic Finance Department for two years. Meanwhile, He was an adjunct lecturer at the Global University in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) from June 2015 to August 2017 He obtained a Ph.D (in Islamic Finance) from INCEIF (AACSB-Accredited), the global university of Islamic Finance preceded by a Master of Business Administration from the University of Malaya. He was the recipient of Central Bank of Malaysia / ISRA Shariah Scholarship for his PhD studies.
