BURA (Boğaziçi University Reunion Association) is
a non-governmental and non-profit organization founded by
Boğaziçi University graduates on 20th October, 2003. The main
objective of BURA is to organize social, cultural, sportive,
professional, personal, ethical, and scientific activities for
Boğaziçi University graduates and students and to provide a
platform for sharing experiences and exchanging good practices
at national and international levels. There are a number of
committees in BURA meeting regularly and they aim:

To enhance civil society development and
demonstrate youth participation in the society.

To promote the exchange of ideas and
experiences, mutual understanding, and equal rights and
opportunities among people.
Some of these committees are:

project group & Translation group.

Institutional relations commission

Human resources commission

Press & public relations commission

Project commission
·
Internal organizations commission
·
Budget and financial affairs
commission
In line with these aims, main activities of BURA are:

Organization of training, workshops,
meetings, seminars, debates, conferences, campaigns with
primary goal to support development of civil society and
involvement of the youth in the above processes.

Regional and international cooperation with
non-governmental organizations dealing with the same and/or
similar issues and working together on problem solving
issues which have an essential meaning for the region.
In consequence, we can summarize BURA’s objectives and
philosophy as follows:
For an individual who obeys the Decree, ‘iqra’ (the first Decree
of Islam with meanings of "read, think, evaluate" everything),
to be able to remain as the most honorable of the created can
only be possible with their intention to walk on the right path
as well as their passion for this, then their making good,
beneficial and useful deeds and their will to equip themselves
with the morals. |
